10 Milk Scenes on Television
Milk, cookies and TV. They kinda go together. Do you remember TV episodes scenes with milk? Here's my list. It may be the basis of the whole plot, maybe it's a funny scene. Maybe part of a sketch comedy show or even a classic commercial. Some are favorites, some maybe milk duds.... Celebrate National Milk Day, it's held annually in the US on January 11th.
As usual, these are just what strikes our fancy and they are in no particular order.
1) Alien Nation this 1980s series featured otherworldly characters who
got drunk on sour milk instead of alcohol.
2) Andy Griffith Show Oct 2, 1961
Opie and the Bully aka Milk Money
Milk was a staple on the Andy Griffith Show. Aunt Bee said so.
Another episode that comes to mind is when Opie signs up to feed Dolly, the old horse that pulled the milk wagon.
3) The Odd Couple, Oscar's Ulcer (Oct. 29, 1970) Felix is warning Oscar that he needs to change his lifestyle and get healthy.
Felix, who always seems to aggravate Oscar's ulcer, serves milk, homemade lady fingers – with dates and poker buddies
4) Monk: Mr. Monk and the Daredevil (Aug. 24 2007)
Monk's arch-nemesis, Harold Krenshaw, becomes famous after he survives a fall from a local tower. Is Harold the real Frisco Flyer as he's been dubbed? Natalie and Julie choose five of Monk's (Tony Shalhoub) fears and attempt to help him conquer one of those five, heights, milk, germs or ladybugs. The attempt proves unsuccessful.
In Mr. Monk Gets a New Shrink (Aug. 18, 2006), powdered milk is a key to the case as it's being hoarded and hidden in ceramic statues just off of Dr. Kroger's office.
5) Dragnet; The Big Ray Season 2, Episode 25 The Big Ray (30 Apr. 1953)
Poison in Milk
(Big Ray 0:28 approx three episodes)
Another Dragnet episode concerns milk. The partners figure out that the miscreant is a juvenile in The Big Present. Several stores from one neighborhood have been broken into burgled. Apparently, the thief only takes a few merchandise items and cash and leaves an empty bottle of milk at the scene.
In The Big Tear, a young adult carries a glass of milk around as he's burglarizing homes. He leaves milk rings on furniture around the house. If the people come home while he's in there he cries and tells them of his horrible childhood, making them them feel bad and they let him escape .... usually with some of their items! Very clever until someone doesn't fall for this.
6) Bewitched: (Oct. 21, 1965) Season 2, Episode 6
Take Two Aspirins and Half a Pint of Porpoise Milk
After being exposed to a black Peruvian rose, Samantha starts losing her powers and getting green squares all over her face. Darrin has to visit her physician and get fresh porpoise milk, eye of newt and other remedies for his wife.

9) Burns and Allen Show, early 1950s, sponsored by Carnation Evaporated Milk
One of their early commercials.
The actors did their own commercials, often incorporating them into their radio and television shows.
In radio days the show may be named after the product, the celebrities' names, a program name came next. The product was always featured.
The idea of product placement, blatant, subtle or the idea of "promotional consideration provided by" was still only a glimmer in some young ad man's eye.
10) Shindig. Bobby Sherman dances for Milk.
Let's all dance with Bobby. It'll do our bodies good!
